Submissions for the year are being accepted now and until 31 October 2024 for a literary award that highlights storytelling excellence across multiple fiction categories.

Australia, 18th Aug 2024,

The Chrysalis BREW Project has announced that nominations are now open for the BREW Fiction Book Excellence Award 2024, an award that recognises outstanding achievements in fiction across a variety of genres. Authors, publishers, and other literary stakeholders are invited to submit their works before the 31 October 2024 cut-off date for a chance to receive recognition and accolades for their contributions to the literary world.

The BREW Fiction Book Excellence Award acknowledges fiction that transcends everyday life and brings readers into imaginative, emotional, or thrilling worlds. This award honours stories that excel in character development, emotional impact, and immersive storytelling. Categories range from children’s books and short stories to novels in genres such as fantasy, science fiction, and historical fiction. Unpublished manuscripts, provided that their anticipated publication dates are specified, are also eligible.

The overall winner, selected from the category winners, will be awarded the prestigious title of BREW Fiction Book Excellence Award Book of the Year. This media exposure package has a potential reach of up to several millions of audiences worldwide. The publisher and author of the BREW Fiction Book Excellence Award 2024 Book of the Year winner will also receive the title of BREW Fiction Book Excellence Award 2024 Publisher of the Year and BREW Fiction Book Excellence Award 2024 Author of the Year, respectively.

The judging process involves careful consideration of several factors, including content, writing style, uniqueness, and the work’s appeal to its target audience. For children’s books, additional factors such as moral values, social manners, and age-appropriate language and illustrations will be considered. The award parameters encourage a wide range of submissions, including self-published, independently-published, and traditionally-published works. Judges, composed of readers, writers, or professionals in relevant fields, will evaluate all submissions objectively and impartially. The judging decisions will be final.

Esperanza Pretila, founder of The Chrysalis BREW Project, notes that the BREW Fiction Book Excellence Award celebrates the diversity and power of fiction to take readers on remarkable journeys. “Fiction has the ability to bring the extraordinary into everyday life. This award honours writers who have a unique ability to craft these immersive worlds and to entice readers to experience them.”

To ensure fairness, the identities of judges remain undisclosed, and all communication must be conducted via the official channels. Nominations are open until 31 October 2024, after which the judging process will begin, culminating in the announcement of the winners on 1 December 2024.
